Researchers are evaluating the "One All" curriculum, a sports-based program centered on Ultimate Frisbee, to improve mental health resilience among young tribal people in Gudalur, Tamil Nadu, and BR Hills, Karnataka. The study aims to assess the feasibility and acceptability of this intervention, including training facilitators and engaging community elders, with a focus on improving mental health and resilience in these tribal communities. The research involves a pre-post study with boys and girls aged 12 to 25 years, measuring outcomes at 12 and 18 months after the intervention begins. The intervention consists of a three-year curriculum delivered by trained facilitators from the community who adapt the program to local needs. Participants attend two or more sessions each week, each lasting about one and a half hours. Sessions include a warm-up, physical drills connected to learning topics, mixed-gender Ultimate Frisbee games with modified rules, and group discussions called spirit circles to reflect on the day's learning. Facilitators receive training lasting three to five months before leading these activities. Participants undergo screening and consent processes, including parental consent for those under 18. Data collection includes socio-demographic details and the administration of questionnaires measuring resilience, mental well-being, and self-efficacy at baseline, 12 months, and 18 months. Attendance and session reflections are recorded by the implementation team and used by researchers. The study focuses on mental health resilience outcomes without accessing medical records and spans a total of 18 months of follow-up after the intervention starts.
