Researchers are investigating how a multi-strain probiotic affects the risk of recurrence and severity of symptoms in women with recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis (R-VVC). This trial is conducted in India and focuses on premenopausal women who have experienced multiple episodes of VVC, a fungal infection caused by Candida species. The study aims to understand whether live bacteria can reduce the chance of VVC coming back and lessen related symptoms. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. One group will take a daily dose of 2 billion colony-forming units of a multi-strain probiotic, given as two capsules each day for six months. The other group will receive a placebo pill that looks the same and lasts for the same duration. The study compares these two groups to see the differences in VVC recurrence over time. Throughout the study, women will be monitored from the start (day 0) through day 180 to check for culture-confirmed VVC recurrence. Researchers will track the number of recurrences and symptom severity. Participants will also be asked to follow study procedures, avoid other supplements or medications, and provide informed consent. The study includes ongoing assessments to ensure safety and compliance during the six-month treatment period.
