This research aims to investigate the demographic, clinical, and laboratory characteristics of patients with diabetic foot ulcers admitted to 5 Azar Hospital in Gorgan during 2024. The study focuses on analyzing factors such as hemoglobin, white blood cell count, HbA1C, ESR, and CRP in relation to the severity of diabetic foot ulcers to help identify predictors of outcomes and improve prevention and management strategies. It is a cross-sectional descriptive-analytical observational study conducted retrospectively using patient medical records. Data from approximately 200 patients diagnosed with diabetic foot ulcers will be collected from hospital records. The study will examine relationships between patient demographics, clinical features, laboratory findings, and ulcer severity based on Wagners classification. Statistical tests including t-tests, chi-square, Fishers exact test, and multivariable logistic regression will be used to analyze these factors and their links to ulcer severity and outcomes. Participants will have their severity of diabetic foot ulcer assessed at admission, along with laboratory parameters and demographic data recorded. Additional outcomes such as duration of diabetes before ulcer onset, smoking status, treatment results at hospital discharge, and ulcer recurrence during a 12-month follow-up will also be evaluated. This study involves no interventions and relies on retrospective data analysis to support better care strategies for diabetic foot ulcers.
