This research investigates the demographic, clinical, and laboratory characteristics of patients with diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) admitted to 5 Azar Hospital in Gorgan during 2024. Diabetic foot ulcers are serious complications of diabetes that can lead to infection, hospitalization, amputation, and higher mortality. The study aims to understand factors related to ulcer severity and outcomes to support better prevention and treatment strategies. Approximately 200 patients with confirmed diabetic foot ulcers will be included. Data will be collected retrospectively from medical records, focusing on clinical features and laboratory tests such as hemoglobin (Hb), white blood cell count (WBC), HbA1C, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and C-reactive protein (CRP). The severity of ulcers will be assessed using Wagner's classification, and statistical methods will analyze relationships between patient factors and ulcer severity. Participants' medical data, including laboratory results and ulcer grading, will be reviewed to identify predictors of ulcer severity. The study will use tests like independent t-test, chi-square, Fisher's exact test, and multivariable logistic regression to analyze findings. Results aim to improve prevention and management of diabetic foot ulcers, potentially reducing complications and healthcare costs.
