Altitude causes lower oxygen availability in the air, which makes the body work harder by increasing heart and breathing rates and changing blood pressure. The body's ability to use oxygen is also reduced at high altitude, which can affect the cardiovascular system and increase risks like heart attack, stroke, and lung problems, especially in people with existing heart or lung conditions. This study focuses on understanding these effects by studying a large group of people who quickly reached a high-altitude location at Punta Helbronner, accessible by a cable car from Courmayeur in Italy. Participants will have their heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, height, weight, and body mass index measured automatically by two special devices called Keito K9 systems, placed at both the lower station (Entreves) and the high-altitude station (Punta Helbronner). The measurements are guided by voice and animation, and participants complete a heart health questionnaire. Some participants will have measurements taken both before and after reaching the high altitude to observe changes. During the study, participants provide medical history and biometric data which are recorded anonymously. Researchers will analyze how oxygen saturation relates to age, sex, heart rate, blood pressure, and body mass index immediately after acute exposure to high altitude. The study aims to create a detailed database to identify which individuals might be more at risk when exposed to high altitudes. All data is collected via Wi-Fi and stored securely for analysis.
