Actively Recruiting
This study evaluates how offering free dental care during a stay at the Department of Substance Abuse Treatment at University Hospital North Norway in Narvik affects patients undergoing drug rehabilitation. It aims to see how many patients will attend and complete dental care when it is provided at no cost, and whether adding dental treatment alongside substance abuse treatment helps or disrupts the rehabilitation process. Participants admitted for drug addiction treatment at the department will be offered free dental services during their stay. This is a non-randomized study without a control group, involving about 50 individuals receiving dental care alongside their substance abuse treatment. During the approximately 12-week dental treatment period, participants will be monitored for attendance and completion of dental care. Researchers will assess whether the free dental treatment influences the overall substance abuse treatment experience. The study focuses on treatment completion and any potential impacts on rehabilitation progress.
