This research investigates the effectiveness of combining rib mobilization with postural correction exercises for adults aged 20 to 45 who have Upper Crossed Syndrome (UCS), a condition caused by poor posture leading to muscle imbalance, neck and upper back pain, and limited rib and thoracic mobility. The study aims to see if adding rib mobilization to postural exercises improves pain, posture, and mobility more than postural exercises alone. Upper Crossed Syndrome involves issues like forward head posture, increased cervical curve, and tightness or weakness in specific upper body muscles. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. Group A will receive rib mobilization techniques targeting ribs 2 to 6 and thoracic spine mobilizations combined with postural correction exercises like scapular retraction and neck flexor training. Group B will only perform the postural correction exercises. Both groups will attend sessions lasting 30-40 minutes, three times a week, for 4 to 6 weeks. Rib mobilization involves specific manual therapy techniques to restore rib and chest movement. During the study, researchers will assess participants' pain levels using a visual scale, measure cervical posture with an inclinometer, and evaluate rib and thoracic mobility using tape measures over one year. These outcomes will help determine the combined treatment's impact compared to exercises alone. Data will be analyzed statistically to understand the interventions' effects on UCS symptoms and physical function.
