Pediatric stroke can cause serious challenges due to its effects on a childs developing brain, leading to lasting difficulties with movement, sensation, and thinking skills, especially in the upper limbs. This research focuses on assessing a treatment called Comprehensive Hand Repetitive Intensive Strength Training CHRIST to see if it helps improve upper limb function in children who have had ischemic or hemorrhagic strokes. The study aims to provide evidence specific to children for intensive hand rehabilitation methods. The study involves children aged 7 to 12 years who have suffered pediatric stroke and exhibit upper limb motor impairments. Participants will receive CHRIST, which consists of 40-minute sessions including three sets of exercises with rest periods, performed three times a week over a 10-week period. The training uses a treadmill designed for upper limbs, moving at speeds between 0.3 and 1.2 kmh to promote coordination and strength. Throughout the study, researchers will evaluate upper limb function using the ABILHAND-Kids questionnaire at the start and after 10 weeks of treatment. The study includes consent and assent processes for children and their guardians. Safety and effectiveness will be monitored during the treatment period, with the total participation lasting 10 weeks. The goal is to understand how this focused training may help improve hand use in children affected by stroke.
