Pregnant women often experience lumbopelvic pain, which includes low back or pelvic girdle pain, along with sleep difficulties during pregnancy. This study evaluates how progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) exercises may help reduce low back pain and improve sleep quality in pregnant women. The study focuses on women aged 20 to 40 years with uncomplicated pregnancies in their second or third trimester who have significant pregnancy-related pain and insomnia. Participants will be divided into groups where one group practices progressive muscle relaxation exercises. These exercises involve sitting in a chair and systematically tensing and relaxing different muscle groups, starting from the feet and moving upward through the body, guided by a therapist's voice. Another group receives conventional therapy with hot packs, TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) for 10 minutes each, and patient education aimed at easing back pain and improving sleep. During the study, researchers will monitor changes in pain levels using the Numeric Pain Rating Scale, sleep quality through the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, and insomnia severity via the Insomnia Severity Index over six weeks. The study includes assessments to track progress in both pain relief and sleep improvement, aiming to better understand the effects of these interventions on pregnant women's well-being.
