Fibromyalgia is a rheumatic disorder that significantly reduces quality of life and often occurs alongside temporomandibular disorders. Researchers are evaluating the effectiveness of an osteopathic manual therapy approach algorithm to improve symptoms in patients who have both fibromyalgia and temporomandibular disorders. This clinical study is randomized to compare different treatment approaches in this patient group. Participants will receive either osteopathic manual therapy focused on improving the function and pain of the temporomandibular joint or a sham osteopathic manual therapy that does not have a therapeutic effect. The treatments aim to address pain and functional issues associated with temporomandibular disorders in fibromyalgia patients. During the study, researchers will monitor outcomes such as pain catastrophizing, functional limitations, disability, pain levels, tinnitus, myofascial trigger points, and range of motion from enrollment up to 6 weeks of treatment. These assessments help evaluate changes in pain, function, and disability related to the temporomandibular joint and fibromyalgia symptoms.
