Researchers are evaluating the effectiveness of a personalized Physical Exercise Prescription Program delivered in Primary Care for adults aged 65 years and older who lead sedentary lifestyles. The study aims to improve physical fitness and quality of life by comparing this tailored exercise intervention with standard health advice to walk briskly daily. It also investigates how polypharmacy relates to muscle function, physical performance, and quality of life in this population. Participants will be randomly assigned to either the intervention group or the control group. The intervention group receives a 12-week individualized exercise program created through the MEDORA electronic system and supervised by a certified Exercise Technician. This program includes aerobic exercises, strength training with elastic bands, respiratory exercises, flexibility routines, and balance training. The control group will receive general advice to walk briskly for at least 30 minutes each day. During the study, participants undergo assessments of physical fitness, muscle strength and mass, aerobic capacity, physical activity level, and quality of life at the start and after three months. Researchers will measure changes in these areas, including sex-specific differences, using various tests and questionnaires. Data is managed securely with partial masking. The main outcome is the change in quality of life from baseline to three months after starting the program.
