Researchers are evaluating if an app-based education and training program for inhalation technique can improve the correct use of inhalers in people with asthma or COPD. This study compares the app-based approach to standard inhaler education over a 6-12 week period. The goal is to see if the app helps patients use their inhalers more successfully, and to assess the app's usability, feasibility, and safety. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. One group will use the inhalation app-module embedded in the AsthmaTuner app, which provides education, training, and automated feedback on inhalation flow using a Bluetooth spirometer and Airflow Trainer device. The other group will receive standard inhaler education without the app. Both groups will be followed for 6-12 weeks, with assessments of inhalation technique and device handling. Throughout the study, participants' inhalation techniques will be evaluated by trained staff using specific criteria and objective measurements such as peak inspiratory flow and inhalation time. The main outcome is the number of subjects demonstrating successful inhalation technique at the 6-12 week follow-up. Additional data will be collected on the app's ease of use, safety, and patient experience. Participation involves baseline and follow-up visits with inhalation assessments and questionnaires.
