Taiwan is becoming a super-aged society with a growing number of older adults living with Alzheimer's disease. Many of these individuals experience behavioral and psychological symptoms such as agitation, sleep problems, and mood changes, which can reduce their quality of life and increase stress for their caregivers. This trial evaluates the use of two wearable devices to help monitor and potentially improve sleep and mood in people with Alzheimer's and their caregivers, focusing on feasibility and acceptability. Participants will use two devices during the study: the Geneactiv wristwatch, which tracks daily activity and sleep continuously for eight weeks, and the Re-Timer light therapy glasses, which emit blue-green light and are worn for four weeks. The study will involve ten pairs of patients and their primary caregivers, with the devices worn over a 12-week period. Researchers will observe how easy the devices are to use, the willingness of participants to wear them, and explore whether light therapy can reduce sleep problems and caregiver stress. Throughout the study, participants will complete questionnaires and wear devices that collect data on sleep quality, behavioral symptoms, and caregiver burden. Sleep quality will be measured using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and actigraphy-derived variables from enrollment to study end. Researchers will assess the feasibility and acceptance of the devices and compare questionnaire data with device measurements to inform future digital health studies for dementia care. The total participation time is twelve weeks, with ongoing monitoring and assessments during this period.
