Actively Recruiting

Researchers are evaluating the effects of lavender oil inhalation on anxiety, sleep quality, and blood pressure in patients diagnosed with primary hypertension. This study is designed as a double-blind randomized controlled trial involving patients who visit the Cardiology Outpatient Clinic of Ardahan State Hospital. The goal is to determine whether inhaling lavender oil can influence these health measures compared to routine care. Participants are randomly assigned to one of two groups. The experimental group receives lavender oil inhalation using a standardized diffuser three times per week for one month, totaling 12 sessions, alongside their usual hypertension treatment. The control group continues with routine care without the lavender inhalation. The intervention focuses on monitoring changes in anxiety, sleep quality, and blood pressure. Participants will be assessed at the start of the study and at weeks 2 and 4 using tools such as the Hypertension Diagnostic Form, Beck Anxiety Inventory, and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. Researchers will collect data on anxiety levels and blood pressure at these times. The study includes statistical analyses to compare outcomes between the two groups and monitor any effects of the lavender oil inhalation during the one-month period.
