This research aims to evaluate a new semantic recognition task in people with Alzheimer Disease to better understand its clinical relevance. Traditional memory tests link recognition task outcomes to hippocampal deficits, but this study focuses on recognition tasks specific to temporal lobe activity. The goal is to improve how memory impairments in Alzheimer Disease are assessed. Participants will undergo a semantic recognition procedure added to the existing Free and Cued Selective Reminding Test (FCSRT). This semantic recognition task takes place after the immediate and delayed recall phases of the FCSRT. The study evaluates the outcomes of this task to explore its sensitivity and usefulness. During the study, participants complete the semantic recognition task and associated memory tests. Researchers will measure performance on the semantic recognition task as the primary outcome within one day. This study seeks to provide insights that could enhance clinical practice in diagnosing and monitoring Alzheimer Disease.
