This research aims to analyze chronic pain symptoms in patients after thoracic surgery, specifically at the 3rd and 6th months following their procedures. Thoracotomy and video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) are common thoracic surgery methods, with thoracotomy known to cause severe acute pain that can prolong hospital stays and increase postoperative complications. Although VATS causes less severe pain, it still affects recovery and can lead to chronic pain, impacting patients' quality of life. Participants in this study will have undergone elective thoracic surgery. The research focuses on assessing chronic pain symptoms at two key postoperative points: 3 months and 6 months after surgery. The intervention involves questioning patients about their chronic pain experiences following their thoracic surgery procedures. Throughout the study, patients will be evaluated for their pain levels at these follow-up times to measure the incidence and severity of chronic pain. The main outcomes include pain scores recorded at 3 months and again at 6 months post-surgery. This helps researchers understand how pain evolves over time after thoracic surgery and its potential long-term effects on patients.
