Researchers are evaluating the effectiveness of adding Porcine Placental Extracellular Matrix (PPECM) to standard care compared to standard care alone for treating difficult-to-heal diabetic foot ulcers. This multi-center, prospective, observer-blinded, randomized controlled clinical trial aims to assess whether PPECM augmented care improves wound closure over 12 weeks. Participants will receive either standard of care plus weekly application of the InnovaMatrix4 AC device or standard of care alone. The study involves following these treatment regimens to compare healing progress of diabetic foot ulcers over the 12-week period. During the study, participants will undergo regular assessments to monitor wound healing, including measuring ulcer surface area and observing any signs of infection or complications. Researchers will determine if the PPECM augmented care leads to better closure of diabetic foot ulcers at the 12-week mark compared to standard care alone.
