Researchers are evaluating patient experiences and unplanned healthcare use after ureteroscopic treatment of kidney and ureteral stones. This study compares two groups: those who receive a ureteral stent after the procedure and those who do not. The trial includes both randomized and observational groups to assess differences in pain and healthcare visits related to stone treatment. Participants in the randomized group will either have a standard stent placed after ureteroscopy or no stent, based on random assignment. Those who join the observational group will receive treatment decided by their doctor. All participants will complete surveys about their pain, quality of life, and views on ureteral stenting. Clinical data before, during, and after surgery will also be collected. Throughout the study, participants will report their pain levels using a standardized questionnaire before surgery and again 7 to 10 days afterward. Researchers will track unplanned healthcare visits within 30 days post-procedure to compare outcomes between groups. The study involves regular surveys and clinical data collection to monitor safety and effectiveness of stent placement versus omission.
