Researchers are evaluating a remote, decentralized approach to improve clinical research outreach and engagement for adults with small-cell lung cancer (SCLC). This observational study aims to explore the feasibility of collecting bio-specimens from patients across the USA without in-person visits. It also assesses patient preferences and needs regarding access to new therapies and supportive care through surveys at the start and after three months. Participants diagnosed with extensive stage primary SCLC or transformed SCLC (where non-small cell lung cancer has changed to include SCLC components) will be invited to join. The study involves remote blood sample collection and completion of surveys at baseline and three months. Recruitment and consent processes are managed centrally by study staff via a dedicated webpage and phone hotline. During the study, participants provide medical information to confirm diagnosis and treatment history. Researchers will evaluate the practicality of this decentralized method over 12 months. The study includes self-reported questionnaires about treatment history, quality of life, and care needs. There is no treatment intervention, and participation is remote, allowing patients to contribute from their homes without traveling to clinical sites.
