This research aims to evaluate the impact of an Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) pathway compared to traditional perioperative management in patients undergoing lung resection for primary lung cancer. The study focuses on both short-term and long-term outcomes to better understand the benefits and challenges of adopting ERAS programs in lung surgery. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups: the ERAS Group, which follows guidelines for enhanced recovery after lung surgery, and the Control Group, which receives traditional perioperative care without ERAS. The study collects perioperative data and compares the two approaches to assess differences in recovery and survival. Participants will be monitored for various measures including intensive care unit use, pain levels, time to first ambulation and oral feeding, length of hospital stay, and complications within the first week after surgery. Long-term outcomes such as disease-free survival up to five years and overall survival up to ten years after surgery will also be evaluated. The study duration spans several years to capture both immediate and extended results of the surgical approaches.
