Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age over 18 years old
- Neuropathic pain at or below the spinal cord injury level for at least 1 month
- Pain intensity of 4 or higher on a 10-point scale during the previous 24 hours
- Stable pharmacological treatment with antiepileptic, antidepressant, or antispastic drugs for at least 2 weeks
- No changes in medication during the 10-day stimulation period and electrophysiological measurement
- Only paracetamol or anti-inflammatory drugs allowed as rescue medication
You will not qualify if you...
- Severe pain from other sources such as musculoskeletal, inflammatory, or cancer-related pain
- Traumatic brain injury
- Alcohol abuse
- Neurological diseases other than spinal cord injury
- Substance abuse
- Chronic medical conditions contraindicating tDCS such as pregnancy or epilepsy
