MAGESTIC Trial: MiRNA in Detecting Active Germ Cell Tumors in Early Suspected and MetastaTIC Disease Trial
Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Primary tumor removed by radical inguinal orchiectomy with pathology consistent with germ cell tumor (seminoma or non-seminoma)
- Clinical stage is stage I pure seminoma or stage IIA/B pure seminoma, or stage I or stage IIA/B non-seminoma, including isolated retroperitoneal relapse
- Retroperitoneal lymph nodes no larger than 3 cm and no more than 2 enlarged nodes
- Abdominal/pelvic and chest imaging within 3 months for stage I or within 8 weeks for stage II
- miRNA-371 blood sample can be collected and analyzed at consent
- Enrollment within 1 year after orchiectomy for stage I, any time after orchiectomy for stage II
- Retroperitoneal lymphadenopathy must be within surgical template for RPLND
- If biopsy of lymph nodes done, pathology must confirm germ cell tumor
- Serum AFP less than 50 ng/ml and beta-HCG less than 25 mIU/ml within 6 weeks before enrollment
- Age 18 years or older
- Ability to understand and willing to sign informed consent
You will not qualify if you...
- Having a second primary malignancy
- Receiving any other investigational agents
- Uncontrolled illnesses such as active infection, symptomatic heart failure, unstable angina, arrhythmia, or psychiatric/social conditions limiting study compliance
