What this Trial Is About
Researchers are studying brain tumor biology in patients with glioblastoma that can be surgically removed. Glioblastoma is a type of malignant glioma with poor prognosis and limited treatment options. This trial focuses on using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to observe brain tumors and identify which patients may benefit from the drug bevacizumab by analyzing imaging biomarkers. Participants undergo a single MRI scan lasting about one hour before surgery. During surgery, patients will have 1 to 3 image-guided biopsies taken from tumor tissue planned for removal. Medical charts are also reviewed as part of the study procedures. The study aims to correlate MRI diffusion measurements with specific protein and genetic expressions within the tumors. Throughout the study, researchers will measure decorin (DCN) protein and genetic expression related to MRI diffusion values, as well as the incidence of certain cell types in tumors. Blood plasma levels of DCN protein will also be monitored up to five years. This long-term follow-up helps understand tumor characteristics linked to imaging features and the potential response to bevacizumab therapy.

Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients over 18 years of age
- Newly diagnosed, suspected, or recurrent glioblastoma with tumors larger than 1.5 mL
- Tumors planned for surgical removal
- For recurrent glioblastoma, recurrence must be more than 3 months after radiation therapy according to guidelines
You will not qualify if you...
- Any contraindication to MRI, such as having a pacemaker or metal implants in the body
- Patients under 18 years of age
