Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Between 18 and 24 years of age
- Assigned male sex at birth
- Identify as a gay or bisexual man, transgender woman, or another feminine gender identity
- Self-report living with HIV, verified by medical chart review
- Currently taking or prescribed ART for more than 3 months
- Missed 2 or more ART doses in any week in the past month OR not virally suppressed (viral load >40 copies/mL in past 3 months)
- Owns a cell phone or willing to use one for the study
You will not qualify if you...
- Unable to give informed consent due to cognitive limitation, severe illness, or intoxication
- Unable to read or write sufficiently to understand informed consent
- Lived in the greater Rio de Janeiro area for less than 3 months or planning to move away within the next year
