The Management of Metastatic Neck Nodes in N2/3 Hypopharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Able to understand and willing to sign informed consent
- Age between 18 and 75 years
- Male or female
- Karnofsky physical status (KPS) of 80 or higher
- Adequate liver, kidney, and blood function based on specified lab limits
- Diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the hypopharynx
- Clinical stage T1/2 N2/3 M0 according to AJCC 8th edition
- Resectable regional metastatic lesion
- Tumor lesions assessable by RECIST version 1.1
- Intent to receive radical treatment
- Use of contraceptive methods during study and for 6 months after last cisplatin dose if fertility and pregnancy risk present
- Good treatment compliance
You will not qualify if you...
- Presence of distant metastatic disease
- History of other cancers or second primary tumor
- Previous treatment for primary tumor except biopsy
- Participation in other clinical trials within 1 month
- Poor tolerance expected for induction chemotherapy
- Severe acute or chronic medical conditions or mental illness deemed inappropriate for trial participation
- Intent for palliative treatment
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women
