Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Diagnosed with non-organic functional dysphonia, with or without minimally associated pathological lesions, and referred for voice therapy
- Aged between 15 and 60 years old
- Native Arabic speaker
- Adequate language comprehension for the study tasks
You will not qualify if you...
- Presence of organic voice disorders
- Aphonia or phon asthenia
- Females menstruating or within the week of their menstrual cycle during data collection
- History of severe respiratory allergies, thyroid issues, neuro-motor or hearing impairments, psychiatric problems, or physical diseases interfering with study completion
- Use of regular medication affecting voice quality
- Presence of speech disorders
- Cigarette smoking, alcohol, or drug abuse within the past 5 years
- Previous microlaryngeal surgery
- Gastrointestinal reflux disease
