Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 kg/m² or higher
- Have a BMI between 27 and less than 30 kg/m² with at least one weight-related comorbidity
- Have had stable body weight with less than 5% gain or loss in the 3 months before randomization
You will not qualify if you...
- Have had or plan to have surgical treatment for obesity, except liposuction or abdominoplasty done more than 1 year before screening
- Have type 1 diabetes mellitus, latent autoimmune diabetes in adults, or history of ketoacidosis or hyperosmolar coma
- Have poorly controlled high blood pressure
- Have signs or symptoms of liver disease other than nonalcoholic fatty liver disease
- Have experienced any of the following heart conditions within 3 months before screening: acute heart attack, stroke, unstable angina, or hospitalization for congestive heart failure
- Have had symptomatic gallbladder disease in the past 2 years
- Have a history of suicide attempts
