What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying children aged 6 to 12 years with Disruptive Behaviour Disorder (DBD) and their parents to see if personalized profiles based on psychological, emotional, and neuropsychological factors can predict how well they respond to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for children and Behavioral Parent Training (BPT). The goal is to identify which groups of children and parents benefit most or least from these treatments by analyzing key areas of mental health, emotion regulation, cognition, and parent-child behavior. The study involves two 15-session multi-component cognitive-behavioral group therapies, offered separately for children aged 6-8 and 9-12 years and their parents. The child and parent groups run at the same time, focusing on improving disruptive behaviors through structured therapy sessions. Both children and parents participate in these concurrent group treatments designed to address behavioral and emotional challenges. Participants will complete psychological, emotional, and neuropsychological assessments before and after treatment. Researchers will measure changes in parenting skills and competencies as well as changes in children's emotional and behavioral problems at baseline, post-treatment, and at follow-up periods between 6 months to 1 year. The study monitors progress through these evaluations to understand treatment effects and long-term outcomes for families involved.
