Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Ability to provide valid informed consent
- Diagnosis of heart failure with preserved, mid-range, or reduced ejection fraction (NYHA I-IV) according to European Society of Cardiology guidelines
You will not qualify if you...
- Cancer requiring treatment (prostate cancer on watchful waiting does not exclude)
- Severe musculoskeletal or neurological disability
- Severe lung disease with forced expiratory volume in 1 second less than 40% of predicted
- Use of anticoagulant treatment excludes muscle biopsy but allows participation without biopsy
- Other comorbidities preventing participation as judged by the investigator
