Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Septic shock patients admitted to ICU within 24 hours
- Selected by attending physician for fluid challenge due to suspected tissue hypoperfusion (elevated lactate and/or ScvO2 < 70%)
You will not qualify if you...
- Age under 18 years
- Uncontrolled hemodynamic instability requiring changes > 10% in vasopressor dose within 15 minutes before or during fluid administration
- Receiving continuous renal replacement therapy
