What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying factors linked to successful recovery after hip arthroscopy surgery for femoroacetabular impingement syndrome. This study compares the affected hip to the healthy hip of the same patients and to hips of healthy individuals. The goal is to identify ongoing functional challenges at key points during rehabilitation. The study is observational and involves 30 patients with femoroacetabular impingement syndrome scheduled for hip arthroscopy and 30 healthy controls. Assessments occur before surgery and then 3 and 6 months afterward, focusing on mobility, muscle strength, and functional performance. Participants will undergo tests like the Y Balance Test and single-leg squat to measure function. They will complete questionnaires including the HIP-RSI and iHot-12 to report their outcomes. Muscle strength and hip mobility are measured at each time point to track progress and highlight any lasting deficits during recovery.
