Molecular Screening Study for Relapsed Small Cell Lung Cancer Patients to Support SUKSES Trial Eligibility

What this Trial Is About

This research aims to provide molecular profiling for patients with relapsed small cell lung cancer and neuroendocrine carcinoma. The study focuses on analyzing tumor tissues and blood samples to identify molecular characteristics that may determine eligibility for a subsequent drug intervention trial called SUKSES. This is an observational protocol without any drug treatment, designed to support future targeted therapies based on molecular subtypes. Participants undergo molecular testing that includes DNA extraction from archived or fresh tumor tissue and blood. Tests include NGS-based cancer panels, Nanostring CNV, immunohistochemistry, and FISH performed by pathologists. These procedures can be done before, during, or after initial treatment. Blood samples are collected at baseline, three, six, and twelve weeks, as well as at times of imaging, to support molecular analysis. During the study, participants provide tissue and blood samples for molecular testing following a standard laboratory manual. Researchers monitor molecular subtype ratios and the success rates of these profiling methods. The study involves no drug intervention and allows participants who have been treated with first-line platinum-based chemotherapy. Participation may last until molecular profiling is completed, with samples collected over several weeks.
