The goal of this study is to see if patients with myeloproliferative disorders are able to successfully complete the Cardiac Lifestyle Program(CLP). The goal of the CLP is to teach patients how to become more active and eat healthier foods. Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- 18 years of age or older
- Diagnosed with a myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN) by WHO 2016 criteria, including essential thrombocythemia, polycythemia vera, prefibrotic myelofibrosis, myelofibrosis, or MPN not otherwise specified
- For myelofibrosis patients, only those with low or intermediate-1 risk by the Dynamic International Prognostic Scoring System (DIPSS) are eligible
- Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status of 0-1
- Must have at least one cardiovascular risk factor such as BMI over 25 kg/m2, hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes or pre-diabetes, metabolic syndrome, or a history of cardiovascular disease, transient ischemic attack, stroke, or peripheral vascular disease; patients without cardiovascular risk factors require prior approval from the principal investigator
You will not qualify if you...
- Myelofibrosis patients with intermediate-2 or high-risk disease by DIPSS
- Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status greater than 2
- Any injury or medical condition that prevents safe participation in exercise, as determined by the treating physician
