Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Ability to read and understand informed consent
- Male or female adults at high risk for lung cancer enrolled in the centralized screening program
- Age 50-80 with 20 or more pack-year smoking history and currently smoke or quit within past 15 years (USPSTF guidelines)
- Or age 50 or older based on NCCN guidelines if not meeting USPSTF criteria
- One or more lung nodules 6mm or greater found on screening low-dose CT scan
You will not qualify if you...
- Active diagnosis of cancer
- Active signs or symptoms of lung cancer
- Presence of mechanically, magnetically, or electrically activated implants like pacemakers or neurostimulators
- Presence of ferromagnetic implants or foreign bodies such as aneurysm clips or shrapnel
- Pregnancy, nursing, or having non-MR-compatible intrauterine devices
- Inability to tolerate MRI due to lying supine or severe claustrophobia
- Non-compliance with visit instructions including inability to lie still, hold breath, or follow procedures
