Brain MRI Study to Explore Autism Spectrum Disorder, Family Members, and Typically Developing Individuals

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are investigating the brain structure, connectivity, and function in people with autism spectrum disorder ASD, their relatives, and typically developing individuals. This study is part of a larger project examining genetic factors involved in ASD and related conditions. The goal is to find unique brain features linked to ASD, understand familial patterns, and connect brain imaging results with genetic data. Participants will undergo various types of magnetic resonance imaging MRI scans, including anatomical, diffusion, and functional MRI. These scans are done once at the start of the study to collect detailed brain images. The study includes people with ASD, their family members, and control subjects without ASD, all of whom are part of the main genetic study on ASD. During the study, participants will complete MRI scans that provide data on brain structure and activity. Researchers will analyze these images alongside genetic information to explore differences and patterns. The study involves informed consent, and participants are monitored for safety, including screening for MRI suitability. The total involvement focuses on the imaging session and data collection at one time point.
