Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients with fulminant type 1 diabetes
- Diabetic ketosis or ketoacidosis occurring soon after hyperglycemic symptoms
- Plasma glucose ≥16.0 mmol/L and HbA1c <8.7% at first visit
- Urinary C-peptide excretion <10 μg/day, fasting serum C-peptide <0.10 nmol/L, or postprandial serum C-peptide <0.17 nmol/L at onset
- Healthy volunteers with fasting blood glucose <5.6 mmol/L and postprandial 2h blood glucose <7.8 mmol/L who provide informed consent and blood for DNA extraction

- Previously diagnosed with diabetes (for FT1D patient group)
- Heart, brain, liver, kidney, or other chronic diseases (for healthy controls)
- Other types of autoimmune diseases (for healthy controls)
- Malignant tumors (for healthy controls)
- Family history of diabetes (for healthy controls)
