What this Trial Is About
The overall aim of the study is to analyse the impact of a music therapy-based treatment on the emotional well-being and quality of life of cancer patients in palliative care (PC). To this end, the effectiveness and efficiency of a music therapy-based treatment to improve adaptation to illness and psychological well-being in this population will be validated and implemented. Specifically, the implementation of an individualised treatment programme for palliative care patients will be carried out.

Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Receiving palliative care for cancer and admitted to hospital within the last week
- No moderate to severe cognitive impairment (based on SPMSQ, Pfeiffer tests)
- Undergoing palliative anti-tumor treatment like chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy
- In advanced or terminal phase of disease according to WHO criteria
- Over 18 years old
- Signed informed consent form
- Completed at least 2 of 3 music therapy sessions and pre- and post-test assessments
You will not qualify if you...
- Estimated life expectancy of two weeks or less
