Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Adults 18 years or older who have had a clinical evaluation at the CPAP Alternatives Clinic at Penn Otorhinolaryngology
  • Must have at least mild obstructive sleep apnea with an apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) greater than 5
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Sleep study showing an apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) less than 5
  • More than 25% of total sleep events being central or mixed types
  • Inability to achieve adequate drug-induced sleep during the endoscopy
  • Having an upper respiratory illness at the time of the Drug-Induced Sleep Endoscopy (DISE)
