Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- All subjects who sign informed consent
- Volunteers over 18 years of age who are not depressed (controls)
- Patients over 18 years of age with Major Depressive Disorder receiving clinical therapy at SFVAMC
You will not qualify if you...
- Subjects who cannot sign informed consent
- Control subjects with depression
- Control subjects with anxiety, psychotic, substance abuse, mood, or personality disorders
- Control subjects with major neurocognitive disorders such as Alzheimer's disease and other dementias
- Control subjects with neurologic disorders with anatomic lesions including traumatic brain injury, stroke, tumor, or arteriovenous malformation
- Depressed patients with psychotic disorders like schizophrenia
- Depressed patients with major neurocognitive disorders such as Alzheimer's disease and other dementias
- Depressed patients with neurologic disorders with anatomic lesions including traumatic brain injury, stroke, tumor, or arteriovenous malformation
- Depressed patients not receiving clinical therapy for depression at SFVAMC
