What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating the feasibility and acceptability of an online group Neuro-behavioral Therapy (NBT) combined with text messaging for Veterans who have epilepsy and major depressive disorder (MDD). The study focuses on understanding how well participants can engage with this therapy approach and how satisfied they are with it. Participants will take part in an introduction session followed by 12 weekly one-hour online sessions led by a trained investigator. The therapy includes activities to help participants manage seizures, understand their environment, recognize moods and thoughts, improve communication, learn about medications, perform behavioral analysis, practice relaxation, identify stressors and triggers, and prepare for life after therapy. Participants are expected to complete weekly homework, thought records, seizure logs, and journal entries. Throughout the study, researchers will monitor enrollment and retention rates, session attendance, homework completion, and participant satisfaction using surveys. The total intervention period is 12 weeks, with outcome measurements taken 14 weeks after the start. Participants will be assessed on their ability to complete the sessions and homework, and their feedback will be collected to evaluate the therapy's acceptability and feasibility.
