Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Male or female, any race
- Age over 18 years
- Participation in an ongoing project affiliated with the Knight ADRC at Washington University and referral by MAP staff and a Washington University physician
- Normal cognition or early-stage symptomatic Alzheimer's disease
- Willing and able to undergo study procedures
- Capacity to give informed consent and follow study procedures
You will not qualify if you...
- Any condition that increases risk, limits ability to tolerate procedures, or interferes with data collection (e.g., severe chronic back pain)
- Hypersensitivity to AV-1451 or PIB or their excipients
- Contraindications to PET, CT, or MRI (e.g., electronic devices, inability to lie still)
- Severe claustrophobia
- Currently pregnant or breastfeeding; women must agree to avoid pregnancy and use contraception for 24 hours after Flortaucipir injection
- Participation in any clinical trial with study drug or device within 30 days prior to enrollment
- Participation in another drug or device study before this study ends
- Current or recent (within 12 months) participation in research involving radioactive agents exceeding federal radiation limits
