Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Female and ages 18 years or older
- Ability to read and understand English and give consent to participate
- For healthy controls: no current or history of chronic pain
- For healthy controls: not regularly taking pain-relieving or mood-altering medications
- For healthy controls: no use of opioid medications
- For individuals with chronic pain: self-reported or physician diagnosis of fibromyalgia and/or chronic pain
- For individuals with chronic pain: either current use of opioid medication(s) or no use of opioid medications for group assignment
You will not qualify if you...
- Limited ability to participate fully in behavioral tasks or longitudinal follow-up
- MRI contraindication
- Any factors that could adversely affect the participant or study integrity as determined by investigators
- Male gender
