Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age 15 to 22 years
- In puberty (Tanner stage III-V for girls and boys)
- Body mass index (BMI) above the 85th percentile
You will not qualify if you...
- Pregnancy
- Endocrinopathies such as Cushing syndrome
- Substance abuse
- Use of medications affecting insulin resistance like metformin or GLP-1 analogues
- High fiber intake above 30 grams per day as recorded in a 3-day food diary
