Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Age 15 to 22 years
  • In puberty (Tanner stage III-V for girls and boys)
  • Body mass index (BMI) above the 85th percentile
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Pregnancy
  • Endocrinopathies such as Cushing syndrome
  • Substance abuse
  • Use of medications affecting insulin resistance like metformin or GLP-1 analogues
  • High fiber intake above 30 grams per day as recorded in a 3-day food diary
