Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients admitted to pulmonology ward or intensive care unit with indication for diagnostic or therapeutic bronchoscopy
- Age 18 years or older
- Patients who agree to participate in the study
You will not qualify if you...
- Cardiac or respiratory arrest
- Impaired consciousness or confusion
- Type II respiratory failure
- Hemodynamic instability
- Inability to cooperate or protect airway
- Vomiting, bowel obstruction, recent upper gastrointestinal surgery, or esophageal injury
- Patients refusing participation
- Unsuitable for non-invasive ventilation or NIV mask
- Candidates for intubation or invasive ventilation
- Contraindications to bronchoscopy such as low platelet count or coagulopathy
