Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Children aged 6 months to 10 years
- Normal hearing
- No history of dizziness or balance problems
- Written informed consent from parents
You will not qualify if you...
- Premature birth
- Existing or past inner ear diseases or surgeries
- Cholesteatoma or prior middle ear surgery
- Known or previous vestibular disorders
- Delayed gross motor development
- Visual impairment preventing fixation on a dot 1 meter away
- Congenital nystagmus
- Limited eye muscle mobility
- Diagnosed neurological diseases
- Diagnosed psychiatric diseases
- Allergy to VEMP electrodes
- History of symptomatic head or neck trauma
- Use of medications that affect vestibular function (e.g., sedative antihistamines)
