Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Patients with histologically or cytologically proven locally advanced NSCLC stage IIB to IIIB
- Performance status 0-1
- Able to comply with treatment and study and follow-up procedures
- Women must have a negative pregnancy test
- Signed, informed consent
- Planned radiotherapy with conventional 66 Gy over 33 fractions meeting all normal tissue dosing limits
You will not qualify if you...
- Any unstable systemic disorder including infection, unstable angina, congestive heart failure, severe liver, kidney, or metabolic disease
- Need for nasal oxygen
- Previous thoracic radiotherapy unless no significant overlap with current fields
- Any other active malignant disease
- Unable to take oral medications or require intravenous nutrition
- Presence of ulcers
- Nursing women
