What this Trial Is About

This research aims to evaluate whether a nursing program using podcasts and videos can help women aged 42 to 58 years improve their emotional well-being and self-care during the climacteric, the stage leading up to and following menopause. The study focuses on women attending public sexual and reproductive health clinics in the Metropolitan South Health Region of Barcelona. It addresses a gap in existing interventions by combining support for positive mental health and self-care in this population. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. The intervention group will receive access to specially designed digital resources, including podcasts and videos on self-care and positive mental health, delivered through a Moodle virtual campus. These digital materials come with quizzes to track engagement and learning, and access will remain open for two months alongside usual care. The control group will receive standard follow-up care by a midwife without additional digital content. Women will complete questionnaires before and after the program to measure changes in positive mental health, climacteric symptoms, and self-care capacity using validated scales. Researchers will assess symptom severity in somatic, psychological, and urogenital areas, along with satisfaction and adherence to the intervention. The study aims to determine if this digital nursing program makes a significant difference, with participation lasting through the intervention and follow-up assessments one month after.
