Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Age 18 years or older
- Diagnosed with alcohol use disorder according to DSM-5
- Body mass index (BMI) greater than 22
- Able to provide informed consent by signing
- Last alcohol intake was within 72 hours before starting treatment
You will not qualify if you...
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women
- Body mass index (BMI) less than 18
- Significant other diseases impairing decision making, such as psychosis or dementia
- Unable to follow study procedures, including due to language problems
- Previous participation in a clinical trial
- Currently undergoing opioid maintenance treatment
- Taking medications to prevent drinking relapse
- Blood hemoglobin A1C (HbA1C) greater than 7%
