Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Self-identify as Native American/American Indian
You will not qualify if you...
- Under 18 years of age
- History of cardiovascular, neuroendocrine, musculoskeletal, or neurological disorders
- Current chronic pain lasting more than 3 months
- Current substance dependence
- Use of medications that could interfere with testing (e.g., recent analgesics, antidepressants, or anti-anxiety medications)
- Inability to speak English
- Current psychosis as assessed by Psychosis Screening Questionnaire
- Serious cognitive impairment (score less than 20 on Montreal Cognitive Assessment)
- Possible peripheral neuropathy as assessed by nerve conduction study
