One-year Study Comparing Bulk-fill and Conventional Incremental Resin Composite for Back Tooth Restorations Using FDI Criteria

This research aims to compare two types of dental restorations for molar teeth with primary carious lesions: bulk-fill resin composite and conventional incremental layering resin composite. The study evaluates the clinical performance and durability of these restorations over a one-year follow-up period using FDI criteria. Participants must have good oral hygiene and no signs of orofacial pain. The study divides the treated cavities into two groups. One group will receive restorations using conventional incremental layering with a resin composite cured in layers using a light curing unit. The other group will have cavities restored in a single increment using a bulk-fill composite, also cured with a light curing unit as directed by the manufacturer. After restoration, occlusal articulation is carefully checked and adjusted as needed. The restorations are finished and polished using specialized burs and polishing materials. Participants will undergo clinical evaluations during this one-year period to assess the restorations' performance and durability. This includes examinations of the treated teeth according to FDI criteria. Researchers will monitor the restorations closely to evaluate their longevity. The total time commitment for participants corresponds to this one-year follow-up.
