Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Aged 18-44 years
- Gradual onset of pain behind or around the kneecap
- Symptoms occur during one or more activities: running, jumping, stair climbing, or squatting
- Referred to East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust for outpatient physiotherapy at Colchester hospital
- Able to read and understand written and spoken English
You will not qualify if you...
- Aged 45 years or older
- Symptoms caused by other knee problems
- Symptoms started after trauma or knee surgery
- Clinical exam does not confirm patellofemoral pain
- Unable to understand written or spoken English
- Unable to give informed consent
