Age: 16Years - 44Years

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Aged 18-44 years
  • Gradual onset of pain behind or around the kneecap
  • Symptoms occur during one or more activities: running, jumping, stair climbing, or squatting
  • Referred to East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust for outpatient physiotherapy at Colchester hospital
  • Able to read and understand written and spoken English
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Aged 45 years or older
  • Symptoms caused by other knee problems
  • Symptoms started after trauma or knee surgery
  • Clinical exam does not confirm patellofemoral pain
  • Unable to understand written or spoken English
  • Unable to give informed consent
